Just when you thought you could mine a little on your claim for gold a Sage Grouse came and stole your claim?
NWMA study challenges BLM sage grouse management report validity - SUSTAINABLE MINING - Mineweb.com Mineweb

"Those resource management plans including mining and exploration activities in Nevada, Wyoming and other western states. If the BLM NTT Report is implemented, millions of acres of public land in 10 western states could possibly be withdrawn from mineral exploration, grazing, and other multiple uses to protect sage-grouse breeding grounds and habitat.

On March 23, 2010, the U.S. FWS issued a Warranted But Precluded (WBP) determination for the potential ESA-listing of the Greater sage-grouse and was given a listing priority number of 8 (1 representing the more dire need for [Endangered Species Act] listing and 12 being given substantially less priority). Loss of habitat and fragmentation due to wildlife, energy development, urbanization, agriculture, and infrastructure development were cited as primary threats to the sage-grouse."

The article is 3 days old, 2010 is when it orig got classified as endangered. The point is they lied and it takes a while and is often hard to prove it, they used deceptive tactics to try and seize land. It took the mining assoc hiring lawyers and investigating but by the time you challenge the science it's sometimes to late.
