Here is a picture of some New York gold that I panned over the course of a couple seasons. It's pretty hard to come by around here but its gold and its purty!!

Thats great I am from Boston MA. never thought there was color in these here parts?, where the heck did you dredge it out of? dont need to tell me exactly where just around or near what river or place I am looking at Northern California but love to here you found it so far North.

It's glacial drift gold. I found it in different places around here. It's all over the north east. Find a good looking creek, with exposed bedrock, and scrape out the cracks, and pan it out. Just be aware of private property or Gov't land you sshouldn't be on.
