Has any body seen this type of matting before? Found 10 foot at a garage sale. 1025131159.jpg 1025131159.jpg

Not like it, my homemade sluice that I started out with, I had this underlament tile installers use, called Ditra. These squares are smaller at the top than they are at the bottom. Sprayed it black with a paint for plastic. It was rather hard to do a cleanup on. Your stuff looks like it would work good.Good luck with it. ss_prod_ditra_r_rdax_289x193_80.jpg

Definitely, definitely worth trying out. Looks very likely to work well to me. Be sure to:
Get it wet and bubble free before running material and then vary the water flow while watching how your paydirt moves in the mat. Maybe post a video?

As long as you got it at a garage sale you might as well try it but I am afraid you might lose some gold and maybe a lot of gold with that mat. I recommend Gold Hog mats as this guy knows what he is talking about plus the tons of R&D that goes into GH mats. Sure it costs more than your sale mat but then it does more, way more in trapping any gold large or small. As others have suggested you better check your tailings with that mat.

Checking the tailings is ALWAYS a good idea when testing new equipment! Even if you've been running the same system for ages it's a good idea if it is portable. You can never get them setup exactly the same way and a degree of angle can make a lot of difference.

Best mat i've found so far is the "RazorHog". I'm in love with this mat. It catches EVERYTHING. I've never found so much as a particle of flower gold in my saftey pan.

I agree I use the Goldhog scrubber mat and the razor back all the time, they are the best mats out there.I figured I'd try this conveyer belt mat I found at a garage sale. Used it Sunday on the river, used razor back as the backup mat.The gold in the pic is what came out of the new mat.
