Hi goldseeker103, She sounds like my wife of 35 years. Always backs me and goes mining with me and helps me in all my screwball ideas. They are rare and we owe them so much. Take care of her she is a gem! Hope you are finding good color in the livingroom.

Good Luck!

How about taking in a foot long chisel (or how ever long works) and knocking out a sample? Use a scoop or tongs to reach in and get it, then crush and pan?

*disclaimer* I'm a novice panner, not a hard rock miner

just a note here ,gold is often associated with copper, but most often it is microscopic, and is most often produced from copper deposits as a byproduct,%'s very low, copper verses gold by ton, major op usualy to be profitable, and even then most profit from the copper, you said n east pa, i am guessing schulkil area ? i have researched gold occurences in pa exstenisvely ,and i have come across no known gold assoc, with copper in pa, a lil south of you in lancaster area the cornwall iron minre did produce gold as a byproduct, but it was like 26,000 ounces over a 70yr period, its been closed for nearly 35yrs.let me dig up some old info i have for your area , there has been glacial gold (recently) ,found in your area , bradford county i think ,ill get back to in a few, any info ,is good info in my book, and i am always quick to help whatever i can for a fellow pa,ian, i know firsthand how frustraiting it is in pa to find gold.

Congrats on making a good choice in wives GS! (Or did she pick you??..lol)

My Queen is the sweetest gal I ever met, and anytime I want to get
out and do some prospecting she's all for it. Not sure how many more
of the long prospecting trips I've got in me, and she's the one usually
urging me to get out and "do" while I can, and for as long as I can.

Not to mention that when I get home she's always interested in
what I found...be it a few cool looking rocks, or the gold in the
vial (which is a rare thing for me to find..ROFL!)

Been to the alter 4 times...and the past 11 years with her have been
the best of my life (marriage wise). Wouldn't trade her for nuttin'!!
