Hello what type of mineral claim would i need just to pan, or use a sluice.?

would i just need a Mineral Claim (MC) – The title granting mineral rights to the available ground within a staked legacy claim location or within a mineral cell claim.

or would i have to get a Placer Claim (PC) – The title granting placer exploration and development rights to the available ground within a staked location for a legacy placer claim or within the available area of a placer cell claim

Unless theres been a change in the laws, you only need a "Free Miners Certificate" to pan on "unstaked" crown land. Using a sluice, or dredge is only allowed in certain areas of the province. If you know what area you want to go to, check out this web page for specific contacts in that area:

Heres a couple of links that you might also want to check out:

Its been a several years since I staked a claim, but from what I recall, once you did stake it, you had 30 days to register the claim. Your first concern is to get the "Free Miners Certificate" that I mentioned above and once you have that you can "prospect" all you want. I'd avoid the reserves and staked land. Also, if your looking at land withing a town, city, or park, or your looking at privately owned land, each has its own downside.
