What Fine Flat Gold Looks Like - Cool Pics

Doing some testing this week.
Brought in some gold / cons from British Columbia area.
EVERY piece of their gold is super flat, even the 100 - 200 mesh stuff.

These pics are under about 200x microscope.
The gold is on a Q-Tip
It was all screened through a 100 mesh screen.
So... the BIG gold is 100 mesh the rest is smaller.

What are the dark specs? If they are not gold how do you get them out?

BTW, I just ordered my first 3 bags.

Thanks for posting this Doc. That is the stuff I work with and the "fine gold recovery tool" it's on is what I use to pull it out of the pan or sluice. The Q Tip is fast, easy, cheap and cuts down on panning time. I'm still waiting to find one that is too heavy to stick. Thanks too on the 100 mesh mention. I often wondered what size to get. Good stuff!
