I love going up to Wickenberg to prospect but sometimes it is just to far 190 miles round trip. I live only 15-20 minutes from the Supe's but hear there isn't any gold, but I also hear some people are successful.

I have tried Tortilla Creek and other than buckshot didn't find anything. What is weird there seems to be lots of Quartz around and it just looks promising.

Anyone have any info to share that would help?

You have! There is a guy named Woody Wampler that says he goes there sometimes and finds gold. Its in this months Gold Prospectors Mag. it sure would be more convenient.

Now there is a guy on this forum I think its GoldIrishMan that has a claim in QC. He had an outing one weekend wish I could have at least went out and met some of them but of course had to much going on.

Really, I live over here by Queen Valley.
Will have to pm him. There has,is, and has been gold found around picket post also.
I just went out with my wife 2 weeks ago with my goldmaster and found nothing.
Brought some test samples home and panned and found nothing.

I will probably join the SMTH next week. For $25 it has to be worth something.
And as a couple have said, they are alright and a good group.

yes I have to agree. There claim maps look very detailed as well a lot nicer than the ones in the GPAA book. They use Google maps.

In the 90's I was all over the Goldfield Mountains and Superstition Mountain in the summer when no one was around to watch me drywashing. I found a little gold over by Government Well, but am pretty sure that is under claim now. I intend to go back and try up and down that wash off of FS12 (I think it is Sycamore Creek) after I get my Viper Vac up and running. It is just a matter of putting in the time and effort and eventually there will be a pay off. Maybe I will rejoin SMTH as well.
