Gold Prospecting Beale AFB

Hey Guys,

I noticed that dry creek runs through Beale AFB and I have read the area was mined heavily back in the day. I was wondering if anyone has prospected there and is it even allowed. If you have how did you do. Looking to try it out one day hopefully.

Having been in the Air Force back in the 60's, it will be a challenge just getting permission to get on the base., unless you are already working on base, or in the military. I have been trying for over a year to get into a creek that runs through a small town, without any luck so far. Good luck in your endeavors!

Hey my dad was stationed there for 15 years! He used to be a mechanic on the SR71 till he broke his back. They then put him in charge of the tool crib. As long as it's not a restricted area, you get the base CO's permission have a blast.

Tried this at Aerojet in Rancho Cordova a few years back, with metal detecting. With security concerns of the past 13 years, not likely to happen.

Thanks guys I am in the military so getting on base is not a problem . Im thinking I might go out there and try some sluicing on the creek near housing. Ill try calling the MP's to see if they know if prospecting is allowed.
