Playn' in muddy water will rot your ears and brains man. My kayak holds all my equipment,air tanks and waterproof chambers to hold metal detectors and misc dry as a bone. 50/50% alcohol and white vinegar mix will douche out that scum from your inner ears and save ya MUCH pain. Black Bones brother lost part of his brain from the infection -John

I highly reccomend kayaking down a river canyon to reach places that ordinary hikers/miners have never reached to find virgin gold!

Or even a float trip using a raft, or inner tubes, etc, just for a day trip. If you go longer, be sure to have extra stuff to camp out with, and keep it dry like Hoser says.

Perhaps, someone can start a thread of float trips?
