I came across an area awhile back where i was getting TONS of black sand, garnet rubies and some small emerald shards. Well i decided to take the post hole diggers out with me and dig down, about 3 feet blow the creek bed which is already about 11-13 feet down as is. I came across a layer of black sands but its was packed so hard I could barely make a dent in it with post hole diggers. I've gone thru buckets and buckets of this stuff and not a hint of gold. Am I even remotely searching and good area of shooting for chit?
When I pan it I get this >

I purchased a ice hand drill to check for areas as you found but you have found better and more then I . No gold but take your gems to a gem show to sell them .
