sw.pa lack of finds

seems every part of the country has precious gems semi precious gems silver gold and so on I am in Washington county
pa not far from the mountains in Fayette county and have heard of no gold silver gems or any of the sort being found my question is how can the rest of the state have gold gems and so on and all the other states surrounding have finds I don't want info on any of counties north of me but if anyone has any info small large hear say ect I would really appreciate any ideas or info you can send my way

It's like Wisconsin and it's lack of any precious gems/metals. Only agates, flour gold and old copper mines.
