If you happen to like fossicking in Queensland, Australia, you will be aware of how restrictive the fossicking Act is. No sluices, no blue bowls, no snuffer bottles even. Only hand tools are allowed and the list of these hand tools is very small.
What anyone that is unhappy about these restrictions needs to do is contact Andrew Cripps MP. He is the Queensland minister for Natural resources and mining. If you do contact him, please make it polite and to the point. The Act needs revising with regards equipment allowed. There is already allowance made in it to add other specific equipment so it is not a major job to make the changes. We just need to push.
