Hi been lurking since the GPAA changed there Forum and I see
that there is a lot of knowledgeable miners on here.
Most of my mining is on the Kern river in Ca.
Sluicing,panning,Drywashing.
Work in the SF bay area but spend my laid off time in
Bodfish CA.
Here's a pic from my last drywashing run in late October at a new spot
I'm calling -30mesh gulch very fine gold but it's there.
30meshgulch.jpg
Here's the hole it came out of

AAAAAAA yes the thriving metropolis of Bodfish :icon_scratch: Just south my friends had the circle CH ranch and raised cows and pigs and ticks. Spent quite a few weeks there at times. Not much gold but one cold winter sob. All my friends businesses went bankrupt in Isabella when the depression deepened and many fled. Cheap place to live for sure. Lotza luck BUT they don't call that river the KILLER KERN for nothing so always err on the side a safety there-John

Welcome to the asylum we call home! Always nice when a lurker decides to come out of the shadows and be a member of T-Net. Don't worry about the size of the gold. Even 30 mesh will add up in time!

Isabella is awfully nice. Have you made it up to Claraville. Good gold up there too. Looks like you're doing OK. G/L

Welcome Bodfish. The demise of the GPAA forum has no doubt enhanced our's here at TN. I think you will find that TN and it's member's are the best you will ever find on the internet. Good Luck and Heavy Pans

Ps Did you move that rock or was it like that?

Hi Mike,
Welcome to TN. I live in the Kern Valley also. I've been looking for someone to prospect with so I can gain some more knowledge. I've never dry washed before, I've only sluiced and panned the Kern River. If you are interested I would like to join you sometime to learn about drywashing and more prospecting skills in general. Full pans to ya !

What were having toast? Here's to the Newby. Good Luck Mike in your quest for the gram and above. That gold looked nice and chunky.
