My brother has been in town since before Christmas we have mainly been exploring the forest roads getting in some target practice and working on my Vw Baja. Yesterday we went down to The claim Hangtown Diggins and I have. I wanted to take the Bazooka down to a spot I have only sampled with a pan.It was COLD!!! We picked a good looking spot that had shown color before. We only dug like an hour eight 2/3 buckets of unclassified bank run material, it was about 12:30 and we realized that area of the canyon would get no sun. We dumped our cons into a bucket and headed up on the ridge for some sunlight and a little warmth. We found a Mountain Lion kill near where we park.......just the hind legs of a deer left and a bunch of tracks...eeek!!!! So, for a small sample I like what we got notice no flakes just chunky stuff and bright fines that haven't moved far from their source. Notice also the varied colors there's a small rusty piece and a piece that's almost green. That piece shows a few chevrons of crystalline structure on one side. Gonna sample a few more 8 to 10 bucket batches around this bench I have a feeling this will be the focus of our high-banking for the winter early spring.
