Went out with the boy and found this. I believe it's a drain for a hydraulic mine. It goes completely through the hill. Ran a couple of pans, lots of black sand and two little specks of gold. I'd go back, but we need rain.

That looks like similar land around my area.

If you are up by Redding send me a message, I have a couple high quality detectors (FORS Gold, Goldbug2) and I could let you borrow one in exchange for taking me out there. :D
I am just getting over yet another bad cold that went straight to the lungs but I should be 100% again by the weekend.
