As some members know, I sell on eBay. I also am very interested in helping PLP so I often donate from my auctions 10%-100% to PLP. I was wondering how many others do this. If not is there a reason why?

I have a family membership, and donate throughout the year as I can. Don't have anything to sell on eBay.

No lack of funds goin to lawyers and people associated with the advocacy groups.. To bad the actual people who rely on prospecting and mining our actually goin broke and hungry.. No help for the actual small scale miner.. Just one big circle jerk! And the REAL small scale miners are the ones doin the hurting.. But no one cares... Only thing people care about is preserving their weekends.. Not actually preserving an Honest trade and way of life for some.. Pretty much why I don't donate.. even if I had extra money I would rather burn it... But I suppose there are many different ways people can make a difference.. Just my opinion that donations is a lazy mans contribution to change... My contribution comes thru my actions and my absolute unwillingness to give up the lifestyle that I come to love... To easy to give up and donate.. Less stressful for sure.. But anyway to each there own... But no doubt I am the fool.. Becouse it's is no secret America revolves around money!!! Money rules everything.. It will buy rights and take them away. Has nothing to do with right or wrong good or bad only thing that matters is MONEY... Crazy days Sad days...

Right now about the only thing I can do is donate money. I am currently in communist Maine and unable to do any mining. I used to live on the west coast and it breaks my heart to see this happening. I truly hope you guys who are relying on small scale mining for income can somehow find your way to more prosperous times. I love prospecting and wish I was able to do more of it. Some of us do care...

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Let us look at 100 years ago; America is more socialist today than then. You guys could mine back then without the socialist gov't of CA getting in your way. NO, capitalism is not the problem; it's creeping socialism.

Amen to that. Capitalism isn't the problem, government against the people is.

This counrty is much more socialist than capitalist.....but..thats a differant story...one thing to do is look at our opponents. Thay are very organized, they are very connected, and they are very well funded.....heck many of them have full time on staff lawyers.......
I respect anyone that mines for a living,, i respect anyone that donates to a group that fights for our rights,,and i really respect anyone that actually trys to put a group of well informed, connected people willing to work together for a common goal together.
For far to long we have been bringing a knife to a gunfight,,,,,these battels are fought in the courts where lawerys are the weapons and time is the ammo and they cost money.....
Im real happy that people can still try to make their living mining. Thats because their rights have been defended by lawyers in the court of law on someone ealses dime somewhere along the way.........
I would like to get to the west and try to mine one Day and i like the idea of my kids and your kids having that same oppertunity someday.......
SO today im going to mail the plp a gallon of my maple syrup to auction off to help in the fight............just like i did to amra..........and just like i did to the sugarpine mine.
we all cant be therefor the fight but we can all help someway!
Someone has to pick up the tab so we can mine!!! And i dont want to feel like im not contributing in some way...guns and ammo are expensive!

it is all over PUBLIC LAND ( a socialist idea) and with many, many different special interest groups, corporations, big and small, and individuals all want the right to use the land for their interests. It is just a big fight over it, I see the BLM and F&G just trying to manage it per whatever group has the most influence in setting down the rules and regulations. there were a lot less groups and people interested in using the land when I was younger but population has grew quite a bit in those years. by the way if it wasn't for the creeping socialism, there would be no public land (totally anti capitalistic idea) and all you would see is private property and no trespassing signs. Personally I am very thankful that we evolved into a mixed economy system and saved the land for us to use, and fight over.

The special interest trying to keep all of us off public land is extreme environmentalists. They don't care about reality, they only care about keeping us out and stripping our rights as Americans away. Capitalism is not the problem we are all better off for it. That's a fact. Our fascist government is the real problem.
PLP is doing lots of good please support them!

It is far simpler than that as any state or federal government employee will attest. You first need to understand the management philosophy, if that's what it can be called, at the agency level of government, which is "the most for the least effort" be it money or work, especially when it comes to work or effort. Translation- the easiest way to manage the land is to reduce what has to be managed- the people. If no one is using the land then it's less work and easier to manage the land. The government doesn't care about accomodating the interests of the varied user groups, they don't have to their the government. I've witnessed entire programs and projects shut down because it required less effort than dealing with a given problem, common sense or penny sense be damned. People give the government way too much credit for master minding at the agency level. A person of average intelligence would be absolutely shocked at the simplistic nature of how things are done if given the opportunity to witness it. Its a very non personally invested environment "go along to get along" as the saying goes, it is not an incentive or merit based system so no real challenge or reward for rising to the occasion and making things better. By design the average government agency is 100% reactionary. They will never be proactive, they operate on the "hand me down" processes and technology of the private sector. They can't keep up with the speed, effeciency, and innovation of the private sector. Understand that and learn to work with "the system".
Being reactionary in nature means that if the only one pushing your buttons and forcing you to work or respond are the extreme environmentalists. Than thats who you are going to accomodate. The lesser of two evils, the "thing" that makes the pain go away, the "what" that makes me have to do less. Not being a condecending know it all just stating facts based on experience that it is indeed "that simple".

Well the people in charge of rules and regulations are temporary, and their minds can be changed as to the best use of PUBLIC LANDS. So it is good, I have seen restrictions here in the public parks and woods change from not being allowed to actual support for activities. It just happens that where you are at, the other interest have had more success for their cause. At least you still have hope as they haven't been closed to the public like private property is. I hope prospectors get better at getting their message to more people. threatning them will harden opposition, at hurt public perception

PLP is the best option out there for protecting your rights. I hope more people will consider donating to them. Sure beats doing nothing! Every little bit helps, these are expensive fights...
