greencheeks ....just a heads up ..that is a great hand pump the only prob is if the Depatment see you with that you could be explaining its use as dredging is banned in Victoria ..i use a modified bait pump which doesnt have any extra valving so it cant be labeled as a "hand dredge".

I see your point GC the law in that respect is that grey its almost black thats why i decided to build the way i did thinking that an extra valve to stop material exiting on the "downstroke" would make it more like a dredge...some of the Dept.guys in my neck of the woods are a little big for their boots (not that ive seen them whilst digging) but most know me and are ok as i work with them as a firey (CFA) ... just giving you a heads-up mate ...heavy pans to you
