Yodels all,

In a coupe of months I have a music gig at one of the Casinos in Laughlin Nev.
I am hoping that during the days, I can maybe get out and do some prospecting in the area.
I will of course start on my personal research to learn as much as I can before going.
But if anyone has been in that area before or currently there and can share a little tid-bit, that would be awesome.
Mainly want to know of open areas that are not under claim, but could maybe walk out with a little color.
Detecting or Drywashing would be most likely the mode.

And since we're right on the river, I wonder how the casino would react to me setting up a highbanker on the beach and start shoveling?!?! :laughing7:

Maybe I just do some detecting on the beach and my color is in the shape of wedding rings :headbang:

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

G

Becareful, Metro tickets heavly for almost any infraction, they don"t mess around. Don"t drive over the speed limit, drive under the influence, if you want to detect the beach, call them and ask if its ok. Metro has plenty of eyes in Laughlin. The biker gangs still frequently visit there, same goes for Searchlight.

I'm 20 minutes away G-bone. Bring your detector(s) and we can go hit a few places on both sides of the river.

Very cool GI!!
I just may very well take you up on that.
Its the last weekend of April and I'll know more regarding my actual free time a couple weeks before.
So I'll drop you a line then and see if your still up for that.
Thank you very much for the offer!!

And Motel6.5, ironically were playing at a bike rally that weekend.
Should be for great memories indeed.

Cheers

Hi there,

If you get a chance and don't mind driving about 45 minutes, take a drive to Oatman in Arizona, old buildings, old ghosts, old town, gun-fighters, hard-rock mining area, gold mining history, etc.. It's got lots of flavor.

All the best,

Lanny

And let's not forget the Burros! Seems there's more of them living in the middle of town than there are people at times!

BTW G-bone, There's not much of a beach on the Nevada side due to the casinos. If you go north you'd be getting into the Lake Meade National Recreation Area. There's no mining of any type allowed within its borders. (which sucks) To the south you're getting into a lot of BIA lands along the river. I've got a couple of spots on the Nevada side scoped out that I've been meaning to hit where it's fairly easy to get to the general area but will require some hiking for the last leg. We can put our heads together later and figure out exactly where we want to hit.

Hey Goldenirishman, my apologies for no contact while we were in Laughlin last weekend.
The River Run was insane and our slot to play kept changing keeping us close at hand.
I didn't bring any thing prospecting related as I knew it was a bust. Weather was insane as well!!

I could smell the gold out there though...ooh boy.

Cheers
