We're doing a free group dig at the LDMA Loud Mine which I posted here.
Today was day one.
We'll do cleanups in the morning but found this JEWEL while running.
I've seen a lot of gems over the years around here... but never anything like this one.
A huge mass of quartz terminations full of black minerals.
Just amazing.

realy nice smoky quartz, I've found smaller pieces but nothing that size.

from wiki.
"The smoky colour results from free silicon, formed from the silicon dioxide by natural irradiation."
