Hello everyone. Am new here and I need help concerning a question. There is a rock in my area in Nigeria here where a Chinese company have been illegally minning gold. It contains gold. Now there is another rock really close by. Now my question is this, is it certain this rock is going to contain gold also since its very close? I really need some one to enlighten me on this please. And is it also sure that all the streams in that area contain gold???

There is a chance but no it isn't certain rock next to it has gold or any rock near has gold. Nothing is certain but death..

Welcome to TNET!
In what area of Nigeria is this mining. I know that a lot of tin mining is done on the central plateau. Won't the Nigerian authorities do anything, or is there still a lot of corruption?

Welcome. The other rock does not necessarily contain gold, but it certainly could. You'd have to test a sample. For instance, there is place near where I live where two rock formations meet. Right behind a big building, there is metamorphic schist with garnets, and 10 feet away is marble (metamorphosed limestone). Each kind of rock has totally different minerals in it. Try panning a stream near your outcrop. If gold is there, it very possibly could have come out of that rock formation.

Oh mine! I hate panning from the look of it. Can't I just use a metal detector instead of panning???
