it passed the Senate and its in the House committee on natural resources, waiting for it to be scheduled for a public hearing.
it will go to a committee vote then the house floor, if its unchanged it will go to the governor or if there is a change back to the Senate.

The letter I am sending to all the Oregon House Representative.

Please send your thoughts to them.
I am not good at this, and stress on it regularly. BUT I am COMMITTED to being heard.
I can NOT complain about our plight if I say NOTHING.

Dear House Representative,
I am writing to request you vote no on Senate Bill 3.
I am a 5th generation Oregonian. I also work a long standing mining supply shop here in Southern Oregon. Your vote on this bill will have a direct effect on my job. It will make or break my ability to support myself in the state that I love. I have supported my daughter in this wonderful place and she chose to continue her college education in Oregon. We want to thrive here.
Data Collected by the USFS DEIS in 2001 has shown this to be a $17 million industry. We need these resources here in Oregon. The short fall in the Oregon budget DEMANDS that you not remove MORE of our state revenue.
You are the Environmental Committee. The bill before you has NO peer reviewed science behind it. We are stewards of our land. We remove pounds upon pounds of lead (from the fisherman), and so much trash (left from the general public) from the bottom of our waters ways. I could bring you multiple wheel barrows full that have been left off at my shop from my customers. They are hoping someone will want to see the MAJOR service we provide to Oregon’s water ways.
My fear is that this has nothing to do with protecting the environment but instead has everything to do with prohibiting something people don’t want to happen regardless of the effects. (Good or Bad)
Please vote NO on SB3
Thank you,
Samantha Everett
Josephine County
