My buddy and I have found the best gold in Missouri ever!! Found a creek, with about 1000 feet of bedrock just full of cracks and crevices.with no glacial rock showing,we thought we might a speck or two.we started crevising using our sucker tubes.A few minutes later, I look up and see my buddy doing the happy dance,he was panning his plus twenty cons and found his first plus twenty piece of Misery gold ever. His minus twenty pan had about 10 peppers + some that were kind of chunky, and a few specks. We worked it for about 4 hours a both got our best MO gold ever. What was weird is there was no glacial rock, and very little black sand. What's nice is it only about an hour from St.Louis. I am going to try to post some pic,s hope that come out. 0427171653.jpg

Maybe I should call Russ,i think I still have his phone #. The first gold I ever found was on a outting with Russ and the gold Club about 100 years ago in Indiana, that first piece of gold in my homemade slice box something I will never forget.Russ had his dredge running, but I never found out what he found. I think I ended up with about a gram that weekend.Maybe we aught to have a thread on first time gold finding story's. Thanks for all your kind comments.May the gold glimmer in your pans.

Well we got out to our new creek. We didn't find any plus 20sbut we did find a little gold. This place is absolutely beautiful. We spent the whole day cleaning out the cracks,We do not peel or bust up bed rock just sucker tubes and crevising tools. The first pic is my buddy panning with his girlfriend.next one is some of the cracks we worked on. 3rd pic is my buddy's total gold for the day.Until next time, happy pans 0507171644.jpg 0507170935l.jpg 0507171648.jpg 0507170935b.jpg

Got back out to the creek today with my dog, for a couple of hours.I figgerd I try something a little different.Insted of digging out and sucker tubing the wide cracks,i would try cleaning out the narrow cracks, cracks from a 1/4 inch wide to cracks small enough for a dental tool.We never did hit bedrock on the wide cracks, hit clay about a foot deep.we never did hit bedrock
Got as deep as two to three foot thru the clay never did hit bedrock. Here are some pics of today. The first couple of pics are of the cracks I worked. The next is gold from the first crack, and then the gold from the whole day.Happy pans. 0510171214.jpg 0510171214b.jpg 0510171227a.jpg 0510171739c.jpg 0510171139.jpg 0510171434a.jpg 0510171433.jpg
