Sure looks like some shiny gold bits mixed in with some green gem stuff. Used a loop and there some clean looking gold bits in there. Any thoughts on this sample? Thanks!

COULD be gold. More likely copper. The green gem stuff may be chalcopyrite.... a copper ore. ╦╦Ç

Thank you TerryC. Your comments give me more to research and I appreciate that. I've brought some pretty rocks home before, but this is my first sample as a "prospector."

Yes, if prospecting were your right hand, geology must be your left hand. You must pick up a copy of Chris Ralph's FISTS FULL OF GOLD. It is THE book devoted to the geology of gold. ╦╦Ç
