Well actually you are correct... it states a friend did it...

" a friend of mine bought it for 300 and sold it for 565"

It was purchased for just above half its obvious value...(15 dollars above half)
I would assume that the person who purchased (the buyer at 565) purchased it at a fair price as well.

These thoughts are what prompted my response.

Little guy gets it again. heh

The main difference between gold and property is...

Property needs to "unloaded"...

Methinks the nugget price was greatly exaggerated considering 1906 gold was valued somewhere around $20/ozt. and a marble sized nugget is nowhere near 15 ounces ($20X15=$300). Maybe pesos vs. $ were lost in the translation. Just saying.
