Just got my CA Drivers License in the mail.
Was surprised to see a gold miner use in the background graphics.
This state was built on mining what the hell went wrong.

California has done everything in its power to destroy it's Gold Mining heritage. I'm really surprised to see them put a Gold Panner on the license after all that they have done to totally destroy gold mining and miners in that useless state...

Id love to live in Cali if it wasn't for the politics and regulations on everything. Half the stuff I have probably doesn't have the proper buttons or safety tabs and I'm pretty sure my guns and cars are highly illegal haha. But I live in Saguache county Colorado, my dogs run free to catch rabbits, I can shoot guns off my front porch and we use an outhouse. Totally different worlds!

I'm always trying to pump you guys up but I mean no harm in my joking. You have a beautiful state and everything in one package.
It's really becoming a loss for the nation because it affects anyone traveling there or anyone who may want property there as well. Sucks for everyone the way it's going and I worry about Colorado. Many Californians have moved here and they brought their big ideas with them.
It's already happening here to a lesser degree.

Way more than just dredging. Probably a dream of some politicians to make the whole state hands and pans in the areas that are not closed already.

Like what? I only pan and detect, so I'm not familiar with the laws. I've only heard that there's a dredging moratorium which, as a fisherman, I agree with if they can back it up scientifically.

I would like the feds off the beaches in the GGNRA though so we can detect it.

They can't back it up scientifically, but they did with lies... No dredging, no motorized equipment, hands and pans only, no sluice boxes in the ASRA, gated off roads, burned down mining cabins and properties, stolen property, false arrests, what haven't they done? It's time for you to get caught up!

You're saying the state of california burned down cabins and stole property?

I always follow the money. Who is to benefit by barring recreational prospecting?

Have they done one thing to help miners? NO!

What would be the state's responsibility to help miners? Property rights, sure, but what else?

So your new to mining :) That's a good thing because you haven't seen all of the changes that we have, yet you hit the nail on the head... Follow the money... Read this thread, watch the movies then start reading down the list here in this forum. It tells all, everything that's happened, just scroll a bit and choose a topic here and there because there is tons of info on this site and many of us have been fighting for decades and many more before us.
This is a good place to start, follow the money = the Sierra Fund, the center for biological diversity, the Sierra club, trout unlimited, the karuk indian tribal leaders wanted a casino... They got it and so much more...
