howdy all , i have a friend near telluride that has a claim , he has dredges , highbankers , sluices , 2 larger washplants , 1 backhoe , he is older and mostly disabled , he has a permit and bonds in place , but he needs help , i will be heading down to work in 5 days , i will be there setting up and getting the season started early this year , however i will be going to my claim after the snow leaves , but he will still need help , he is interested in allowing people to come work on his claim , bring your own gear or you can use his gear , all based on pre-agreed shares , he has 6 miles of river on private land, camping on site , 8 miles to a town , really good access to the river , if anyone has a backhoe or excavator , you can help run one of the 2 larger washplants ,

this is not an hourly job , he is not seeking any funding , we could use a couple dependable hard working people(men or women) to help recover gold, short stays and long stays are welcome , send me a p.m. if your interested , i will p.m. you back with my phone number for more details , thanks ,

I'm sorry if i have broken any forum rules , but i don't think i did .

Is there free-milling gold in that area? I thought it got its name because the lode deposits were all gold tellurides and not free.

telluride is a type of ore body that can be hard rock mined and processed , telluride ore can be mined in many locations not only telluride co. , but we are placer mining , ironically there is a town next to telluride called Placerville , and a bit down stream is a place named bedrock ,and we are somewhere in the middle , lol , however there is a lot of placer in the area but mostly smaller pieces , not big gold , but consistent smaller gold , so yes to your question there is free-milling gold

...and funny enough, there aren’t telluride ores in Telluride! That was just a mistake made by an early prospector who saw iron pyrite and thought he’d found tellurides. D-oh!

Ive dug the placers in the river near Placerville...good stuff! This sounds like a heck of an offer! I suggest promoting it in he “Finding Gold in Colorado” Facebook group where there are more Colorado prospectors!

Placerville is at 7300 feet above sea level. Sounds like a great deal for somebody. Will be kind of cold until May. Is it the San Miguel river?

Good luck on the weather, doesn't the saying go if you don't like the weather in Colorado wait 20 minutes. I'm sure we still have a couple spring storms left. How long do you plan on spending at the claim before moving on to yours?

i lived in in different parts of Colorado for over 25 years , been in Wisconsin for the last 4 years , i love Colorado weather , i will be there for roughly 60 days , if all goes well , I would not want to be sleeping in a tent for a bit yet , that's for sure , i have a small travel trailer , so I'm only outside during the day

I have prospected that river many times, years ago. Good fine gold. My uncle had a claim in that area and it was very profitable. I found the remains of a placer operation down in the canyon below Uravan. There was a vintage trommel some related tools and a grave...probably the end of that . Very cool area
