Probably in the neighborhood of a tenth of a grain.....maybe smaller in the right locations.

Put a small piece of Gold on a business card try a few different sizes of gold on each card take them to The UPS store and have them laminated and there's your test pieces to see how small of a piece you can find with your detector..
