hey bud, i have heard and read that 12 to 18 is good. i don't know if mine is perfect but it works well. I have a 14 inch drum with paddles inside. I get 18 rpm and it runs good for me. watch your material in the drum. see how high it rides before it tumbles. my material rides up about 1/2 to 2/3 and tumbles. the more the material collapses on itself during tumble the better. it will break chunks and clean material better. if your material just slides without tumbling , your not doing anything. hope this helps.
