First off let me Say, I don't believe this Tale.
I Think any Tale involving Indian & white Lovers
is Nothing more then another Version of a Romeo & Juliette Story.
But Then I don't consider myself a Romantic.
& Don't believe Indian Tales Either,[Payote induced & or Lies]
which this May Be. (I Didn't Read it through) But since it says some
consider this tale as "Gospel Truth" , & unless I was Mistaken,
I have been Wrong Once.
so......
I post this for your Enjoyment & Consideration ! :coffee2:

I too was wrong once. I’m a quick learner.
Love treasure cave stories. Especially if they involve an underground river.

By the way, out west it was not uncommon for a “white” man to marry an Indian woman.
I say “white”, because just like today, people came from all over the world.

In the remote areas, explorers, trappers, miners, ect. were usually young single men. Married men left their women back east till things were settled and they made it rich

Some of the women were foreigners that were working girls.
There were women miners and business owners, but it was not common.

Result was zero to few “white” women available. Nature always prevails.

Yea I don't Contest the fact of Mixed marriages back then.

What I Doubt are the Shakespeare
type tragedies that always seem to be wove into the Tales..
So I'll just read the Comments to Know what this ones about.
As I said, I Didn't read it. But am taking for granted
someone tried to turn the tale into a tear Jerker

Too far for me anyway

As you know, Jeff, from the number of published stories you have rescued from obscurity, most treasure stories are just stories. Nothing more.

I thank you for bringing another story to the campfire.

Time for more coffee.
