If you can see it, you can pan it!

    I have a 25 micron screen, I’ll try that when I get a chance.
If I could separate the white silty stuff I think I’d be ok

    Prospecting
I am in no way an experienced prospector. However, I have separated gold from beach sand using a 24” long sluice with deep v-matting. I run a 48oz peanut butter jar full at a time and then pan the cons, and usually get 13-18 colors per pan. The gold is rounded like the sand grains, and just as small if not smaller. It just rolls around with the sand and does not stay put. Very hard to separate. But I get it.

I’d be willing to take a cup or three of your sand and see what happens.

Your beach gold is different than Lake Superior beach gold. Up there, the gold gets hammered flat by the rocks on the beach.

Sent some out to a forum member. We will see.
Pretty sure it’s not going to be gold though.
Would be neat if it was, but I’m highly doubtful now

    Nope.
Not gold coming out of my well.
The thought was sure pretty cool though!
Just wanted to update all involved.
And thank you all for the advice and help.
I’m headed far north this weekend to do a bit of river prospecting and
    Maybe a bit of detecting.
Weather looks decent. Should be a good time.
    Special thanks to @tahoegold.
