Anyone have any luck in the extreme NE corner of New Mexico? I'm talking east of I-25 and north of I-40...Folsom/Mosquero/Logan area. I know the area north of Santa Fe, near the CO border, is a "known" placer producing area and was wondering if some of those east flowing rivers (Cimmaron, for example) may show any promise...

If there is placer, then more than likely there is a lode supplying it. There are no "hard and fast rules" when it comes to geology.

All you can do is look and try. Maybe you'll find a new mining district.

Mining is how I make my living. I turn mountains into dust on a daily basis.

I've driven through those areas countless times, but it doesn't hurt to prospect, as you don't know until you get out and look, but do yourself some research on the area's in order to know a little of the mining history and geology of the region, so your not just wandering around in areas that have no potential whatsoever. Just keep your lips sealed on what your doing. There was a company that was hoping to open a mine in the Ortiz mountains, but it ran into great opposition by the folks of that area. I was sure hoping this Lac minerals would be a go, as we did good with them on an operation they had some time ago in Beatty, Nevada. https://www.sfreporter.com/news/2013...em-thar-hills/ If anything have fun in the great outdoors and good luck!
