I Don't know how Close Gold is Connected to Inflation, But the Inflation Calculator
I Just used said $2 in 1852 → $65.22 in 2018.

$100 in 1852 → $3,261.13 in 2018, Not bad for a Half day's Work

$100 in 1852 would be about 5oz of Au. Today that’s a LOT more than $3,261!
