Think about all the big giant boulders to remove and all the equipment you can carry on you as an individual prospector, no need for heavy machinery. Will probably still take another 10 to 20 years though until the technology is improved further to be practical outdoors, but something to think about in the future that can help you find more gold.

The japanese also have this air-pump operated device that helps the elderly lift heavy items that's cheaper and more portable.

Every idea looks great from a drawing board or warm and dry living room. Field conditions are the great teacher and can make even the best of ideas another wasted piece of equipment rusting on a stream bank. Keep it simple!

Well, if it can pick up a 140 lb bucket of black sand like it was empty, or drive a shovel into hardpack like it was loose sand, that would be a useful tool!

The Japanese rig looks like it would work great for stacking cobble!
