You can definitely see all of the bedrock from google earth. I would check my land matters to see if its claimed and also to see if any claims in that area. If its unclaimed, and your able to pan there, then it looks like a great

Google Earth clearly shows more than a few pot farms in the general area, I'd be VERY careful about hiking around the hills too much.

Truly gold in then thar hills, but tread lightly. The green gold could get you dead. As stated, do your homework. Otherwise, it's a great place to visit

most grows in the area are on private land.

Sutter creek was the main creek worked. S. Fork Cosumnes river. N Fork Mokelumne Expect all access points open to entry to be claimed.

But , a bushwack can get you to open ground. Rich area. Look for good catches in the Limestone bedrock.

I worked some small tribs to the Moke back in the 80's. Can be some good color. Nowadays, like GW said, it's mostly claimed. A good day trip near there is Roaring Camp in Pine Grove. Check them out.

There are a few mining ops from the old days that caught my attention around Volcano, the bedrock is super deep in places, lots of private property. love it up there.

I'm referring to the area just above and below around the highway49 bridge and all the way west. You do know the river is now declared wild and scenic.

Know about that well my old prospecting club owned a couple Mok claims upstream of the 49 bridge. The N Yuba has a finer purity than the Mok.
