Hello All,

I'm planning to drive up to Colfax and hike along the beautiful stevens trail tomorrow for memorial day. I have a few questions and figured this would be the place to ask due to the locals that watch these forums along with other prospectors.

1. Is the stevens trail open with lockdown going on? I assume its now open but figured it would be best to check. The https://www.blm.gov/visit/stevens-trail-trailhead blm website posted it closed as of 2 months ago, however I see plenty of instagram posts from hikers as well as reviews left on all trails.

2. Is prospecting allowed in this entire area where the blue line runs https://imgur.com/a/IOOYip0 due to the "wild and scenic designation", or are there certain areas areas that are claimed?. I'm hoping to do some light crevasing after lunch. The BLM website reads "There is usually a ¼-mile buffer zone withdrawn from location of mining claims on either side of a river while the river is being studied for inclusion in the Wild and Scenic River System." however I want to check here to make sure that is correct... Last thing I want to do is be a claim jumper.

Thanks
