Not my find. Big gold found in Sonora!

This was found by a friend and fellow "gambusino". It was found in a trashy tailings pile from a commercial miner. He would carefully remove the trash and this beauty was the reward. It weighs 530 grams. The gold was around 200 grams. Enjoy.

This nugget in particular was covered in caliche. When it was found it was almost white and looked like a normal rock. It takes a moment to figure it out. Just little bits of gold poke through.
It becomes obvious at a point that it's a significant amount of gold but it's a mystery. Also, the Mexicans have a different way of getting excited, more subdued. They wait until they sell and get paid. Then get rip roaring drunk to celebrate. I think there is a video of the first acid wash. I'll try and round it up.
