As a matter of fact, I AM writing a book
I'm trying to write a kids book as viewed from the eyes of a teen girl, (my daughter) and it's tough! I didn't realize how difficult it is to keep my own perspective out of it while keeping it interesting for the age group it's intended for. With that in mind, I am posting the first of the three pages I have written. Your opinion matters. Be cruel, but be honest.
I may post the other pages if the reviews are good. Storyline and plot will not be revealed yet but rest assured, no vampires.
It wasn't the first time she'd heard the threat and it certainly wouldn't
be the last. "I'll find that dog a new home, I swear I will!" The words echoed in
Sami's head as she grudgingly spun a dozen paper towels from their resting
place on the kitchen wall. "This must be what old people mean by 'broken
record', whatever a record is", she smugly thought. Her trusty companion, a
four year old Basset Hound named Chloe had left a stinky pile on the hallway
carpet again and dad was none too pleased about it. Sure, Chloe was
housebroken and usually did a very good job outside but with her three best
friends over earlier and two of them spending the night later, taking the dog out
dropped a few spaces on her 'to do' list. There were movies to rent, popcorn and
soft drinks to prepare, cell phone and mp3 player to charge... the list was endless.
Besides, dad was just outside cutting the grass, why couldn't HE let her out?
As she surveyed the mess on the carpet, Sami hoped the wad of paper
towels would provide enough of a barrier so that Chloe's latest offering wouldn't
make contact with her fingernails. After all, they were scheduled to be painted
later that evening, just after 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. She shuddered a
bit at the sheer grossness of the sight before her but as she began to clean up
the mess, the 'eeewwww, nasty' feeling was replaced by a slight twinge of
remorse for getting so off track and forcing Chloe to relieve herself on the
floor.
For about two seconds.
(that's it for now)

If you want to be rich..do what rich people do...If you want to be a writer...do what writers do...they READ..
I suggest you go and read and re-read and re-read To Kill a Mockingbird.....by Harper Lee. And then discuss it with your daughter...the book is written through the eyes of a young girl.
Good Luck.

Didn't Miss Jane Austin write her early books through her own eyes as a young girl/woman??
How about the diary written by Anne Franks?

You might want to consider co writing a book with your daughter. And let her be the 'lead' writer. It would make a great memory for the both of you. Of course you also can write another book on your own.
