Programmable GPS

I know nothing about GPS but the concept of what they do. Is there a handheld GPS that I can look at a Google map and get the coordinates and program them in to the GPS and have the GPS take me to a spot in the woods that I have seen on Google maps? Looking for a GPS that wouldn't cost and arm and a leg,,,,,Maybe $100.00. Thanks in advance.

Not that I know of in that price range . I believe you would be in the $250 to $300 range or more with a subscription to aerial mapping that would come up on the screen of the GPS . Here is a good example ..........

I use the GPS on my Android phone
Open fields and beaches are no problem .
I got it very cheap off an auction site ($39), as it was not the current model.

But the gps looses signal under tree's, and around tall buildings..
Hunting old abandoned homestead sites (if they are covered with trees) is a no go for marking "way points" where you find treasure.
It also can't take any externally mounted gps aerial accessory ..
