Ok after several hours of trying to find a free converter and dealing with all the spammer software touting free software I'm done. Can anyone give me a trusted source

Lots of free software that can convert lawman. What do you want to convert the JP2 to? Do you want to batch convert or just one or two?

I want to convert to a standard jpeg file. I have seen several maps that are on the Internet but in jp2 format and I can't open them to view it.

I would suggest Fast Stone Image Viewer. It reads and converts JP2 and it's really fast. It's free and there's no advertising, tracking or sign up needed.
