Anyone use Maprika for gps maps etc

As long as you understand the limitations it could be useful.

The Maprika product regularly accesses GPS satellites, and therefore may have an impact on your unit's battery life.

Maprika is not intended, nor should it be used, for any primary navigational use, whether by air, water, surface or subsurface means.

Maprika is not a substitution for a dedicated GPS, a printed map and compass, and/or local information.

Things like projection and datum come into play when creating mash ups of maps so unless you are prepping your maps in a professional program don't expect much accuracy.

The battery issue will be the biggest limitation. GPS programs on phones can eat a battery pretty quick. Having backup power or a recharge system helps a lot.

Careful of triangulation services on phones - they are very battery intensive and inaccuracy is legendary. Limit your GPS to satellite only and you will get more accuracy.
