    Explosives? Obsolete?

Poured into drilled holes, Dexpan breaks reinforced concrete & rock safely and quietly. I don't hard rock mine but if I did I would try this stuff.

I have tried this type material on construction jobs where we had to remove foundations. If the rock is solid with no cracks or voids, it might work. the expansion will go to the area of less restistance, thus , fractured rock will not be broken , only filled with expanded product. Cost is also a factor.

Obsolete ? No. Not even close . There is no substitute for thunder . Just wait till you have to move some nice size tree stumps with roots like fire hoses along your dig line .
