Nice etch . That acid work can be a revelation if you know how to do it , and are finding the right type stuff to do it with . I hack out some decent GOR for my parts ,,,, but it ain't like that stuff .
Personally , I like the before state best ................. But the after is pretty damn nice too .
Etching has a big buyer following for sure . Nice piece and nice work . It's purdy stuff either way to me .

As hydrofluoric will etch glass, what did you use for your holding container? And were there any residual pieces of crystalline gold still in the container after the acid bath?
HF is stored in plastic containers, I think but am not positive that in the days before plastic it was stored in in wax containers that were protected by heavy wicker baskets.

Hydroflouric is stored and used in a plastic container, yes some gold ended up at the bottem of the container.
