Is it a piece of metal? If so it is probably an artifact. Has it been polished? If not it is probably an alloyed piece that is rust resistant. If not metal it may be an iron mineral. Check it with a strong magnet. I found this rock in oroville ca.its about 2in.x2in. Could you tell me what it might be

So I have two rocks I found on the beach. The bigger one I tried to hit with a hammer but would not break and they both do not react to magnets. Smaller one looks like it’s fools gold. Bigger one looks like it’s some sort of ore but I’m not sure.
