Here is one I found in a fault zone. Was emerging from a sandy cliff surrounded by white marble and limestone. Quartz with hydrothermal mineralization. I know little about what the reds and yellows specifically are. Thank You! Click image for larger version.

    Nucleus-looking spots on rock

Hello, I'm new here - just found this interesting rock while digging in my Northern Illinois garden. I've never seen anything like it around here. The soil has a lot of small rocks, occasionally what looks like corral or another fossil but this one is puzzling to me so I am curious to hear what you think! The circular spots have a tiny dot in the middle and are in a uniform arrangement. There is a small protrusion between the layers, you can see it by my thumbnail in the 2nd picture. Any ideas?

Heavy hematite mineralization. Have it professionally tested. The rainbow coloring suggests chalcopyrite butbit could also contain rare earth minerals.
Mining is how I make my living. I turn mountains into dust on a daily basis.

I keep finding this stone in various places, it looks to me like a broken countertop as it always has a side that sheers flat or was cut flat. It's black with some brown speckling. Also areas that are flat or broken have a mirror like shine. Normally I wouldn't even bug you with this but, it's popping up in places that I'd imagine people wouldn't dispose of a countertop.... Though it's totally possible it's just a broken countertop. Would someone who knows more about rocks than me, please tell me if I've found something natural or something man made and pointless.
    Thanks in advance.

If just outside of Kingman towards Vegas then that is probably from the Mineral Park mine that used to be owned by Duval Corporation, the company, but not the minesite, that I worked for and retired from. Azurite, a copper mineral. https://www.google.com/search?q=azur...hrome&ie=UTF-8

If it can't be grown, it must be mined!

The dark grey area is magnetic. Not sure what type of metal is in it. Not sure what kind of mineral the rest of it is either. Some kind of ore? Was found in southwest Ohio.
