Wondering what type of rock this is. Andesite? Picked it up because of the mineralization and pyrite peeking out of it. I know it's a leverite rock but I like to learn.

If it is a tool it may be a rocking crusher or grind stone. Found near a mineral bearing area?

Nappy, I'm afraid no, most of the time they aren't worth a fortune. :)
About your new post, not certain. Looks like its sedimentary. Limestone?
Not sure of its use; artefacts are not my expertise.

Kingkimee,
Difficult to say. To blurry of a picture. I do think I see some pyrite

Shaman,
Hey there!

A quartz with sulphides. Crush and pan!
Second image is to blurry.

I'd like some help identifying this awesome looking stone. I found this at Arapahoe Bar in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. My guess is it's Quartz, iron and mica. On one side there are what looks like iron shards.
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458918230.267568.jpg

On the side where it fractured there is a nice layer of quartz crystal
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458918270.517930.jpg

Here is the back which is shiny and glittery
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458918305.353450.jpg

Here's another of the front. This is the side I noticed in my sluice when I pulled it out.
ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458918340.788288.jpg

Can anyone tell me what exactly I have here? Do you think it could contain a tiny spec of flour gold?

View attachment 1281773 View attachment 1281774 View attachment 1281775 View attachment 1281778 after cuting the sample, the spray from my saw was full of non magnetic metal, filings it looked like, they are deff metal, they bend, and were strong enough to be tiled sawed off, also, hard to get the cam to capture it but, the sample looks like its spoted with gold and silver

P.s. I looked all over the nasa site i couldnt find any info on where to send my slice, or much of anything pertaining to that, all i could find was stuff about how to home id meteors

Good lord i need a loop and a good look at it,, non metalic shavings you say?.... Humm let me conundrum that one...

Was tilling up my front yard for a new flower bed yesterday when one of these bluish green rocks flew out. Then another, and another. I think they were obviously put there at some point, dont think they were naturally occuring here. They seem very light weight. Btw im in eastern oregon at aprox. 3300 ft. Thanks!!

Nice! Either a jade or a slag, are you near RR tracks?, or was it someones collection..lol if its jade it will be hard to chip if its a coke slag then it will chip like glass very easily.

Again chris, look at it with a loop real close, pyrite will flake off gold dents and is very bulbous, aka round bubbly on a weatherd rock because it doesnt rust rot and is bendy. Barring that crush to dust and pan it. Look at diy rock crushers.. Lol and good luck hard rock mining while i love it, is costly, and hard .

Found on the Illinois side of Lake Michigan. Host rock was black , with a lil scrubbing, the brassy rocks began to appear. Does not scratch or flake. Does not react to vinegar.

PennyG,, thats amazing, possibly silver in lead nugget, but vinegar should turn it black, amalgum maybe? Try a acid test unit ( amazon 14.99$) shipped and itll have the streak test with it, pretty,, interesting, carefull dont lick the rock, and wear gloves while washing it,, if its an amalgum it could havemercury and high amounts of arseno pyrite, ( arsenic) in it. Assay is like 25$ these days might try that too! Nice find!
