Meteor - I see him too, plain as day facing to the right - or maybe a green-tailed peacock! :tongue3:

hb - that looks like a nice solid quartz vein you have uncovered - time to get the sledge working!

It looks like you have dug down @4-6"--- is that on the down hill side? are you going to roll the rock? What is sticking out of the side hill to the right that the bird is looking at?
Treasure cache or clue maybe? This is going to be interesting- keep us posted on your progress. HH

Yes whenever you see a dog on a quartz boulder with a bird shape shadow don't start digging there, hidden caves full of bullion are usually nearby:tongue3:

We are running lots of rock while we wait on our new table. Nothing new to report. We did sample pan a 1/2 cup of -100 mesh and got 30 to 35 pieces.

Tramp, we are doing pretty good now. We do need a bigger crusher though. As soon as we get through this set of ore we,will see where we are at. Here is a close up of the ore.

good to hear youall are doing better, those breakdowns suck, you may not need a bigger crusher? just perfect your sampling method and run only paying rocks.

Do all your sampling by hand so you do not to contaminate the sample, you can do it right at the dig site while your are digging, then you have a better idea where your values are in the vein, I don't know if this your method but it works well for me, save a lot of time.

I see your are working the big veins, and was wondering in your values do they run through out the vein or are they just in the vuggy colored zones.

if its just the vuggys paying, only run that material as its a little softer than the solid quartz, sometimes I find on these big quartz veins that only one part of it pays I call it a sliver vein..

it is common for it to be on the contact with the country rock, or near that zone. and common to be vuggy like your pics.

Keep it up you might hit a full blown pocket, good luck.........

From your pics, looks like you have one of these sliver veins ? that's why the old timers left it, chasing a sliver of pay through a vein the size you have there, is it a pain in the butt, and rarely do they produce a sizable pocket.

Good luck....................
