Not much prospectin here lately.
Broke the. frontend off the truck 3 montbs back,
just been millin my sulfide ore pile.

Got the truck back last night its fixed, so prospectin in a couple days, maybe I finely hits a bonanza.

Action mining , gold flux . That's a 27 gr. Piece, my biggest pocket last year.
Its a little dirty in the pic, still has some glass on it.

Forgot to ask the shaft size, plate size, and over all weight of the crusher? Are the jaw plates "Hard faced"?

Its a 4x6 burford I think from the 20s, weighs about 400 lbs two thirds of which is fly wheel.
All the other stuff I have no clue, I just throw rocks in the dadgum thing.

Good plan to bring home just the values to crush. Not many people out there can say they use mill stones to fine crush there ore today. Back a number of years ago used to be common practice.
Is a normal grind section say one day or does it take longer to grind into fines?
This one remembers tumbling rocks to polish lasted weeks to get to a good shine with different grits sizes.

This one is guessing that most of the rock values are to small be picked up by a metal detector except maybe a falcon type pin pointer metal detector. Do you just break open the rocks looking with your eyes for the fine values as you dig? How big are your batch samples that you crush?

Yeah the arasstra is more of a poor mans tool, kinda slow, but I'm that way now so it works, both slow and poor.

Looks like your batch samples may be up to about a 1/2 - 1 ton of rock. This is a very good sample size that is for sure. Thanks for the pictures.
So you will have a very good idea how much values per ton sample as you are digging around prospecting.
