Copper?

Hey Folks.

Been registered for a while and reading the forums.
Finally posting something.

I recently acquired this sample, looks to be native copper.
It will be going for a thin section soon.
It is soft/malleable, streak is reddish brown.
I also thought it might be chalcopyrite or pyrite, but the streak doesn't fit.
It is not really tarnished as one might expect copper to be as this is not a fresh sample, but a piece that was exposed to the elements for some time.
It looks like it is sitting on a bed of Amphibole, that is looking a little gneissic.
This does correspond with the surrounding bedrock geology.

Figured I would throw this out there for a look as I always like to see what others are coming across in their claims.
Opinions?
I forgot to throw something in for size comparison. It is about the size of a CD case, and approx 2.5" thick. Heavy for its size, and smells metallic (Might have some hematite in it?). Copper (or whatever it is) mineralization seem to be thin on the sample.

Hope that I got these image sizes down to the correct size without killing the quality.
Getting this to show properly in the lighting was not easy. This is about as close as I can get to it's true color.

[Needle]

A positive test for Copper, any ore;
Chip off a piece the size of a match head and place it on a piece of charcoal.
Heat it to a redness in oxidizing flame of a blowpipe.
Add 1 drop of Hydrochloric Acid; Now reheat with blowpipe.
Results: A blue or green flame if any copper present.

I couldn't tell buy looking at pictures, but looking at the second picture it looks like copper. Usually copper exposed to the elements will have that green or blue stain and you said it was malleable, definitely needs a test though. Needle
