X-terra 705 or Tesoro Cortes for coins

I know and trust my Tesoro Tejon for relics and I don't think either of these can beat the depth I get (12 inches on a minnie in wet soil) nor find small buckshot and caps like my Tejon does. What it does not do well is find coins. It does find coins but in a trashy area where there are targets everywhere and iron everywhere I just don't know what to dig. A metered machine would kind of take care of this problem and I have the money for a second machine. I had a DFX and it could not touch the Tejon on relics so goodbye DFX, besides it was hard to set up. I have also had probably 40 other machines in the last 38 years. I am looking hard at either a Minelab X-terra 705 or a Tesoro Cortes to take into these trashy areas. Both machines have their pro's and cons. Both machines are very close in price, so money is no problem. I love the Tesoro detectors, but the meter is a drawback on the Cortes, but love the fact that I could change the frequency on a Minelab by changing searchcoils and the meter is a plus on the Minelab. So, I guess my question is which would be the better of the two for hunting for coins where the Tejon has a hard time. The Tejon will remain my main relic machine, it is lightning fast and light and goes really deeeeeep. Unfortunately, both the X-terra 705 and the Cortes have excellent reviews, so the reviews while helpful, kind of cancel each other out.

My vote would go to the X-terra 705 as that it what I use for coinshooting. It gets good depth and has the most amazing small coil I've seen yet. The 6" DD coil can get 7-8" on coins in good ground and has razor sharp separation. With tone ID, even in all metal and a 3khz coil for deep silver its a great combination. I've used Tesoros before, but they aren't my first choice for coinhunting (on lookout for a used Tejon for my relic hunting). The X-terra is really just more versatile, has autotracking groundbalance that you can program in an offset and has a backlight for those early morning or late evening hunts (good in full dark too, but I don't believe in hunting in darkness, due to safety concerns).

Tesoro's are great detectors; I've got a number of them, but the Xterra trumps the Cortes in every way. Even though Tesoro's are good coin finders, they've never made a great dedicated coin machine in my opinion. However, the Cibola, Vaquero, and Tejon are among the best relic hunters made.

If you are just looking for a coin machine, why not save a few pennies and look at the Delon or
    X-terra 50?

Or, go one better and get a used 70 as it has auto ground balancing and tracking like the 705 and the price has come down on those since the 705s have been released. I love the 70 I have, almost more than the 705, because the buttons have english on them and there's not the silly international symbols like on the 705 (pet peeve).
