Aquascan Aquapulse 1B vs. Minelab ExcaliberII

Anyone have an opinion which detector would be best for diving the Florida Atlantic waters from 0 to 30' deep?

Re: Aquascan Aquapulse 1B vs. Minelab ExcaliberII

    Welcome to TNet.

There are few detectors that I haven't used and this is one of them. The price for this PI new is about the same as the Excal II, but while the PI will find all metals if you are diving this is what you want. For finding wrecks or relics buried in the coral a PI is what you'll want. I've taken the Excal down to 140 ft. with out leaking but have no idea of the Aquascan's water proofness.

The Aquapulse is rated down to 100m (300ft).

Take note from Gold Hawgs and Greg Bounds success with the Aquapulse in shallow Florida waters.
